Answers to the questions we hear most often about the Bildungsgutschein and the 45-day seminar.
What is a Bildungsgutschein?
A Bildungsgutschein is an education voucher, a written confirmation from the Agentur für Arbeit, the local office of the German Federal Employment Agency (As of October 2026). It certifies that you meet the conditions for funded vocational training. The legal basis is § 81 SGB III. The voucher can be limited in time, to a region and to a specific training goal. You can only redeem it with an approved provider and only for an approved course. The provider submits it to the Agentur für Arbeit before the course begins. Whether you receive a voucher is decided by the Agentur für Arbeit case by case.
Who can get a Bildungsgutschein?
Anyone who meets the conditions of § 81 SGB III can receive a Bildungsgutschein (As of October 2026). The training must be necessary, for example to help you return to work after unemployment or to avert the risk of losing your job. The Agentur für Arbeit must also have advised you beforehand, and both the provider and the course must be approved. Employees can be funded too. The decision is made by the Agentur für Arbeit case by case.
Can I already redeem a Bildungsgutschein with you?
Soon (As of October 2026). WAMOCON Academy GmbH is already approved as an education provider under AZAV. Course approval for the 45-day seminar Abschluss Softwaretester ISTQB® Zertifikat, Weiterbildung is in preparation and the documents are largely complete. The seminar only starts once this approval is granted. From then on you can redeem your Bildungsgutschein with us. Only one more start is planned for 2026, so it is best to get advice and pre-register now.
Is the seminar free with a Bildungsgutschein?
Yes, if the Agentur für Arbeit approves your Bildungsgutschein (As of October 2026). It then covers the course fees of the 45-day seminar once the course approval is in place. Without a Bildungsgutschein the regular price is €6,000. § 83 SGB III also lists travel costs, accommodation and meals away from home, and childcare. Which costs are covered in your case is decided by the Agentur für Arbeit. Raise it in your consultation and get the funding confirmed in writing before you register.
Do I have to go to the Agentur für Arbeit first?
Yes (As of October 2026). Under § 81 SGB III, the Agentur für Arbeit must have advised you before the training begins. Only then can it issue a Bildungsgutschein. Our tip: talk to WAMOCON Academy first. You will then know whether the 45-day seminar fits your goals and go into the consultation well prepared.
Do I need prior knowledge for the seminar?
No (As of October 2026). The 45-day seminar at WAMOCON Academy is designed for graduates and career changers without IT experience. We start with the fundamentals of software testing and work through the whole ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level syllabus three times using the spiral principle, each time in more depth. Every day you practise what you have learned in the DiTeLe learning platform. We are happy to clarify in a consultation whether the seminar fits your goals.
What is DiTeLe and how does it relate to the seminar?
DiTeLe is the WAMOCON Academy GmbH learning platform for hands-on software testing and the practical part of the 45-day seminar (As of October 2026). There you test running web applications right next to the task, document your findings as bug reports with steps, expected and actual behaviour, and get feedback from your trainers on every submission. The platform has 175 tasks in four courses. The AI assistant Diti answers questions about the platform and your progress and helps you phrase bug reports. Only your trainers assess your submissions. A free demo without sign-up is available on ditele.de.
How long does the software tester training take?
The ISTQB® CTFL + Praxistraining seminar at WAMOCON Academy takes 45 full-time seminar days (As of October 2026). It follows the spiral principle in four stages: days 1 to 14, 15 to 28 and 29 to 42 take you through the whole ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level syllabus three times, each with new practical tasks.
